Millennium Oaks

Planted in November 2000

Species: Welsh Oak

2000 Welsh Oaks were planted across the site to mark the millennium. They are not in any particular area and are designed to break up the 'regimented' look of the hillside. They are not part of the scientific experiment and therefore were not tagged and measured in subsequent years.

Other comments:
On the whole they are still very small, with some of the ones between Pan and Titania barely above the heather. Others are a few feet high, but most are not sheltered by other species and have had to bear the full force of the Welsh winter.
