- Small Mammal Survey Kip carried out live trapping of small mammals on the site in 2002, 2003 and 2004. This project was an attempt to monitor what species of small mammal might be there, comparing the different habitats and how they changed over time. (pdf 55kb)
- Mammal survey using Hedgehog Tunnel and Trail Camera - 2015 Kip surveyed the Varteg site using the combination of an inked tunnel detecting footprints with a camera detecting movement near the tunnel to try to identify small mammals using the site. (pdf 205kb)

- Mammal surveys at Varteg in July 2018 Kip organised more extensive, non-invasive mammal surveys in 2018 using various methods to try to see what animals used the site. (pdf 254kb)
