August : Erosion Pins
4th - 8th
This was the last time Earthwatch supported the project. They sent five volunteers to assist the seven regulars and helped to measure Cariad and Eirwen.
Martin (as usual) spent half a day measuring his erosion pins above Pwll-du. This is a long-term experiment to measure the natural erosion of mining spoil. No reclamation has been carried out here - the landscape is almost lunar in appearance.
